Handmade Fireplace Bellows, "Shorty Bellows", Walnut with Cherry Inlay, Very Dark Brown Leather
These bellows were crafted from walnut with a cherry inlay on the front. They are about 2 inches shorter than our regular sized bellows, but still deliver a big puff of air to your fire. Finished with a tung oil rub, they are approximately 17 inches long and 7 inches wide. The leather is very dark brown, and the tacks are bronze colored. A sturdy brass hinge connects the paddles under the leather boot, which features a brass nozzle. These bellows are made to last for generations, while bringing a sense of history to your hearth. A few puffs from these bellows will help get a fire started in your fireplace, wood stove or fire pit.
Our bellows and other wooden items are crafted by hand in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We prefer to bring new life to antique wood by recycling lumber from old barns, houses and furniture to create our one-of-a-kind pieces. Imperfections in the wood such as knots and worm holes grace these timeless designs. Created using a combination of hand tools and modern technology, our items are beautiful as well as functional.

My engraver requires a black and white image in JPEG, GIF, or other image format. The resolution must be good so the image will remain crisp when enlarged. If you need assistance locating a suitable image, please contact me and I'll be glad to help.
Please contact me to see where I am in the assembly process. It's fine to add engraving as long as the bellows are still in progress. However, once the bellows is assembled, it will not fit in my engraver.
To care for the wood, any product intended to clean or polish wood may be used. The leather may be treated with neatsfoot oil or similar leather care products. The brass nozzle may be cleaned with commercial brass cleaner, or simply polished with fine steel wool.
DO NOT IMMERSE YOUR BELLOWS OR TRIVET IN WATER. DO NOT SCRUB THE SURFACE VIGOROUSLY WITH WATER OR ANY CLEANING PRODUCT. THIS WILL REMOVE THE TUNG OIL FINISH AND LIGHTEN THE ENGRAVED AREAS. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY MISHAPS INVOLVING YOUR ITEM DUE TO CLEANING OR WATER DAMAGE.
